      BMW M4 convertible unveiled, to cost 60,730 pounds in UK

      Prior to its debut at New York Auto Show, BMW has revealed details on M4 convertible. The new BMW vehicle is slated to launch in UK by September and is expected to carry a price tag of 60,730 pounds, equivalent to Rs 61lakh.

      The company claims that new M4 convertible is inherited with all the traits of a BMW car that ensures superior performance and premium experience. Each car from the stables of BMW displays the following traits- lightweight engineering, carefully honed aerodynamics, advanced race-derived chassis tuning and electronic driver assistance technologies and a sporty elegant profile, open or closed.

      BMW has housed the new M4 convertible with a 3.0 litre in-line, 6 cylinder motor, this is the same engine that powers other vehicles from M series, including M3 and M4 coupe. The top power and torque output yielded by the robust engine is 431 Bhp and 550 Nm respectively. Company will proffer M4 convertible in both manual and automatic transmission, a six-speed manual and a seven-speed M double clutch will be put on offer.

      M4 Convertible is lighter than the outgoing version of M3 convertible; the new M4 convertible will be 60kgs lighter than M3 convertible. Copious use of aluminium in the bonnet front wings and major chassis components enable to achieve a low kerb weight of 1,750 kg. A carbon-fibre reinforced plastic is used for propeller shaft and for engine compartment, a strut brace is used.

      Among the equipments that will be offered on the vehicle,Efficient Dynamics fuel-saving technologies, including Auto Start-Stop, Optimum Shift Indicator (in manual mode only with the MDCT transmission), Brake Energy Regeneration, on-demand operation of ancillary units, a map-controlled oil pump and a final drive with optimised warm-up behaviour are included.
