Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is known throughout the country as a firm that conducts and organises a number of events for its fraternity of customers. Just recently in 2013 September, HMSI had conducted a bike ride for owners of superbikes in the Mumbai-Nashik region. Carrying on the tradition in 2014, HMSI, this time, the Japanese manufacturer formed an alliance with an Indian group called Group Of Delhi Superbikers (GODS) to conduct a ‘Big Bike Ride’ with the motive of promoting safe riding in an interesting manner. Flagged off from Honda’s New Wing World Showroom at Naraina in National Capital New Delhi, this rally saw the participation of 25 bikers from all over the region.

Conducted from Naraina to Manesar, this ride included breakfast for all participants at Hotel Pullman in Gurgaon. To ensure things are absolutely proper, every rider, a part of GODS, was provided with a First Aid Kids. Many riders, participating in this event, saw this as an opportunity to get away from the hectic schedule of daily life.

An Expert Medical Trainer was roped in to brief the group of riders about emergency measures. Exhibiting how to handle faint riders, riding the vehicle while it is falling, transfer of an injured rider with necessary caution and taking care of minor injuries were some of the things shown in this demonstration.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Y.S. Guleria, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, “As a responsible corporate, Honda has always emphasized on road safety. Such endeavours are amongst the many that Honda undertakes to promote fun riding in a safe way without losing the thrill. As the traffic density continues to rise, especially the big bike riders need to be aware and informed about the precautionary steps to handle themselves and their bike in case of an emergency.”

On the other hand, Dr. Arun Theraja, the founder of GODS expressed his thanks to the Japanese firm. “GODS is thankful to Honda and appreciates the efforts made by Honda Wing World-Delhi to educate riders about emergency measures. The group today learnt tips and techniques that will not only be handy, but also be useful in the long run. These recreational activities not only promote safe-riding, but also educate riders to be wary off the extreme conditions,” he said.
