One of the Board Members for Engineering of Bentley has revealed that the company might be looking forward to offer an entry-level crossover vehicle, a slot below the current Bentayga. According to reports, Rolf French said that there is a possibility of a crossover but nothing is certain as of yet. The same has been reported to be heard from Wolfgang Dürheimer, the CEO of Bentley. He has reportedly said that the "derivative is definitely one of the ideas we have, but our store of ideas gets bigger and bigger."
Specific details were still under wraps, both from the company officials as well as from experts, it has been reported that a small crossover might be a good bet for the brand. It could be developed on the all-new MSB platform, which will also underpin the Continental GT, considered to be the next generation. Simultaneously, it is also capable of taking on the production variant of the EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept.
The Bentayga is expected to take Bentley’s target up to the mark of 20000 units per year by 2020. Bentley reached the target of 11000 units for the first time in 2014 and the new model will be a vital contributor to boost those numbers.
