Volkswagen India, the Indian unit of the largest European car maker Volkswagen AG, is all geared-up to showcase its strategic product line-up at the Delhi Auto expo 2012. The two most awaited car displays at this German automakers platform will be the new generation version of its Iconic Beetle model and the much anticipated Volkswagen Up! hatchback.
Volkswagen’s German rival BMW will be unveiling the high profile Mini brand of cars at the show; it is going to be a task for the new Beetle to pull crowds. Carrying looks of almost previous generation model of the car, the new Beetle looks almost similar to the older one as the company hasn’t interferes with the original iconic design of the Beetle model.
However, the dimensions of the car have been changed completely. While the new beetle will be considerably longer and wider as compared to its previous generation model, the height of the vehicle will be about 12 mm lesser as compared to the previous generation model. Boot space of the car has also been enhanced to 310 litres from 209 litres earlier.
The new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will be blessed with a range of new age features including keyless entry, panoramic sunroof, advanced satellite navigation system, bi-xenon headlights, and many more. The new Beetle model will be offered in two engine options including 105PS, 1.2-litre TSI or a 160 PS, 1.4-litre engine. Moreover, when compared to BMW Mini, the Volkswagen Beetle would have an edge of having lower price tag.
