Tata Motors, one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India, is expanding its base in the domestic and global market by introducing different vehicles. The company achieved recognition around the world when it introduced Nano. Tata Motors also grabbed headlines for its acquisition of the international brand Jaguar Land Rover. It is now venturing into the hybrid technology segment by introducing the Manza Hybrid at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2012.

The company has decided to incorporate ‘hybrid technology’ in its upcoming vehicles in order to attract a wider range of customers. As more and more buyers are becoming conscious of the effects of using non-renewable sources of energy, it has become mandatory for car makers to come up with environment friendly vehicles.

The Tata Manza Hybrid Electric Sedan, which will break cover at the Expo, is similar to Tata’s standard Manza. The Manza is available in both petrol and diesel versions. It is fitted with a 4 cylinder 1.3-Litre diesel or a 1.4-Litre 4 cylinder petrol engine. The specifications of the Manza Hybrid, however, have not yet been revealed.

Tata will also display two other electric models at the Auto Expo. One is based on the Vista and the other on the Indica. At the Geneva Motor Show 2011, Tata Motors exhibited its 69 mpg Tata Pixel Concept. It has also revealed fuel-efficient concepts at other auto shows.
