The state-of-the-art infotainment system from Apple will enable access to various features available on smart phone including contact list, iTunes, incoming calls and various other functions either through, touch screen, siri or buttons and knobs which will depend on the vehicle. A very important feature that Apple CarPlay will also allow access to the user is Maps, which is required to hunt a location or give instructions while reaching destination. The CarPlay system will not integrate with any of the iPhone Series prior to iPhone 5. This means that only the 5 Series which includes iPhone 5, iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will be able to unify with the CarPlay system.

Only select 2014 models will be offered with Apple CarPlay system manufactured by automotive companies mentioned above. Basically it is a feature that will be available in international markets.

As far as Indian auto industry is concerned nothing can be predicted in such fluctuating scenario. However it is too premature to comment on this, only time will tell the fate of Apple CarPlay in India.
