It is time for the most affordable car in the world to become more affordable as Tata Motors plans to launch yet another variant of its signature Nano car. The much hyped ‘1-lakh car’ is all set to add a new member on its booklet, which will be tagged a notch lesser than its other models. It has been decided to name the new variant as the XE trim and will replace the CX and LX trims in the market. This car, which will be perfect for driving on roads, will be launched in December, this year. It is expected to be placed just below the top XT trim model. The task for customers and fans, who were planning to buy a Nano apparently, becomes much easier now, as they will have to make a choice from two options only, the high-end XT trim and the lower placed XE model.

Tata Motors had taken the cue long time back from the reception it received during the initial launch of this model. Despite the car being among the best in this segment, it was not properly received because of the ‘cheap’ tag joined with it. As a result, the company changed its marketing strategies and removed the ‘cheap’ tag, replacing it with affordable. This has worked wonders for the makers, as the newer variants of Nano were far widely received by customers. Tata Motors has also decided to retain the power steering on all models, including the base variant. Also, the steering wheel will be slightly bigger in size. The instrument cluster on the Tata Nano XE will also include a detailed appearance. The trip meter has been installed to monitor the fuel economy and even a digital clock.

The model has some cosmetic upgrades simultaneously, which include simple plastic bumpers. Wheels without wheel-caps will also feature in the upcoming model. Apart from these features, the model has a strong resemblance to the current CX model available in the market. There will not much significant changes as far as the mechanistic details of the car are concerned. The car makers have retained most of the existing features and technical specifications in the model. It is expected that the car will be available on three different colours, silver, gold and white. The Nano is all set to launch the new variant and is expected to grip far more audience as was conquered by its predecessors.
