Delhi Police has been performing their duties rightfully for years on tandem, now. This act was praised by an association of approximately 15 popular biking clubs in New Delhi, where a large number of bikers turned up to show respect to the Delhi Police. All these bikers gathered on August 24, 2014, near the Jantar Mantar and took part in a rally. Approximately 500 bikers from every nook and corner of the city were present at the rally. One could witness a plethora of two-wheelers at the rally, from the most common 100 cc bikes to the mean over 1000 cc superbikes. Bikers for Good, a motorcycle community that holds rallies for social awareness was the chief organiser of this rally.

The main logic behind the whole rally was to show respect for the Delhi Police. Mohit Ahuja, the founder of Bikers for Good took an active part in the event. He commented, “The public is there to protest and criticize the police when they fail to do something. We planned this ride to thank them for taking care of the city, through thick and thin.” The safety of roads and public awareness was another issue that was dealt during the rally. Jeet Kandhari, the Admin of the Bikers for Good community said, “Biking today is growing. Motorcycle Clubs have members who are students, doctors, CEOs and even higher. Doing something like this will only help us create better terms between bikers and the police.”

Placards carrying the slogan Free Hugs for Delhi Police were also visible. A huge banner was set up with the logos of the participating communities, where bikers wrote messages for the Delhi Police. This banner was later presented to Mr Ajay Singh, S.H.O. Parliament Street, New Delhi.

Bikers for Good members are the only ones who ride for social causes and public awareness only. It promotes responsibility and safety among riders across the country. Today, there are nearly over 5000 members of this community, which was established 3 years ago. It has made connection with over 3 lakh people in such a short time and would like to keep up their good work in the near future.
