The stylish and impressively performing compact SUV Ecosport from Ford has been a hot favorite among carbuyers in the country. For a while now interested new customers have been eagerly looking forward for the launch of 2016 Ecosport model. As per sources, interested customers may nor have to wait for too long as it is likely to be launched before Christmas this year.
Answering to questions put forth by sources, Mr. Nigel Harris, Ford India’s President and Managing Director, said, “You won’t have to wait till Christmas. Its not too far away.” The 2016 model is likely to get the same 1.5-Litre TDCi diesel engine that already serves the new Figo models. The diesel trim generates a decent 98Bhp and 215Nm of torque, while delivering an impressive mileage figure of about 25.83km/l. The petrol trim would continue to be powered by 1.0-Litre turbocharged EcoBoost and 1.5-Litre Ti-VCT engine options. The company may also offer an optional 6-speed Powershift dual clutch transmission.
The 2016 Ford EcoSport is likely to get a new 4-inch SYNC infotainment system that also helps with satellite navigation and reverse parking camera display. The new trim gets some additional chrome on the exterior as well as interior. For safety, the vehicle gets driver-side airbags as standard, whereas the top end trim would get six-airbags.
