The Kite hatchback from Tata Motors has been one of the most awaited vehicles in the country. This time around, sources have spotted the upcoming Kite model which may be named as Tata Tiago undergoing road test with new 10 spoke alloy wheels. Based on new design language, the vehicle has been positioned in competition against Maruti's Celerio, Honda Brio, Chevrolet Beat, Grand i10, etc.
The Kite hatchback will be available in petrol as well as diesel variant. The petrol trim shall be offered with 1.2-Litre, 3-Cylinder engine, whereas the diesel model gets a 1.05-litre 3-cylinder engine. Apart from the 5-speed manual transmission on petrol as well diesel, the company shall offer the AMT option on either one of the trims.
More technical details and pricing information is not available for now and it shall be known at a later date. The company is likely to launch the new model by the end of this year and shall be manufactured at the Sanand plant. Sources have also indicated that the company may also launch a sedan sometime next year that would also be based on the Kite platform.
