The India Bike Week has always been a launch pad for several motorcycles in the past and this year it is no different. Triumph Motorcycles has already unveiled its all-new Tiger 800 XCx adventure motorcycle at this event. The XCx is the latest addition to the legendary bike maker’s product portfolio. The bike will be launched in the Indian market anytime during the later half of the running year.

The 2015 edition of the XCx is among the newer variants of the Triumph 800 Adventure range, which was initially launched in 2010 and has now, entered the second generation. The bike is more off-road based and is more hard-core when compared with the XRX. All credits go to the 21-inch wire-spoke wheels, traction control and off-road ABS.

The bike comes with a tubular trellis frame along with a twin-sided cast-aluminium swingarm. The rear and front suspension are essentially, WP units with adjustable rebound and compression for the former. There is an adjustable preload with a rebound damping function. The front and rear wheels have been provided with individual discs as well as switchable ABS.

An interesting aspect of the new features of X variants of the Tiger brand is the presence of two 12-volt power socket and cruise control, to better the sole purpose of driving the bike to longer distances with ultimate comfort and control. The gauges have also been provided smartly to include current and average fuel consumption.

The 2-15 XCx is powered by the Tiger’s trademark 800 cc inline three-cylinder mill, which produces 94 bhp and a torque of 79 Nm. Mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox, the bike comes with a 19 litre fuel tank. The XCx has a free road in the country as it has no such competition in the country. Benelli 600GT is the only bike, which comes close to the model. Expectations loom large that the bike will be priced somewhere around the 14 lakhs INR mark, which means it will compete against the Kawasaki Versys 1000 in terms of pricing.
