Upon its launch on Indian turf, the four-door Mercedes-Benz CLA coupe will be pitched in the sub-Rs. 25 lakhs price bracket. The news is generating some intense media interest and speculation around the upcoming luxury saloon, along with the entire automobile industry and domestic car enthusiasts.

The Indian spec Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan is expected to be introduced in both petrol and diesel powered guises. The 2013 CLA is the smallest Mercedes-Benz four-door coupe ever built, but possesses breathtaking visual appeal and enticing interior setting and inbuilt features. The CLA design is based on the German auto major's critically acclaimed Modular Front Architecture (MFA) and is actually an extended sedan version of the immensely successful A-Class hatchback.

Coming to under-the-hood specifications of 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLA, the four-door luxury sedan is anticipated to be launched in three petrol options in the Indian auto market. The base model will be powered with a 122 bhp capable motor, whereas the two mid-level variants will incorporate 156 bhp and 170 bhp powertrains. Further, the CLA top trim will be seen sporting a meaty 211 bhp petrol engine under its hood. The diesel model of the luxury saloon is expected to come fitted with a 170 bhp capable power mill. The engine assemblies are anticipated to come mated to either six-speed manual transmission system or the much fawned upon seven-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox.

The yet-to-be launched Mercedes-Benz CLA coupe will be pitched against the likes of Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Passat and Nissan Teana in the Indian premium luxury car market. Evidently, the upcoming 'Three Pointed Star' CLA sedan looks like an immensely promising new model and could snatch the market away from Accord and Passat in the country.
