Yamaha has always been an innovator. Based on a Japanese counterfeit, Yamaha has begun the trend of Naked Bikes in the market. These bikes have outrageous but smart looks and are entirely suitable for street as well as mountain biking! These series include MT-09, MT-07, MT-25, etc. But the Yamaha fans are still waiting for the extreme sports naked bike, MT-250 or MT-25. The dilemma of the names is because these are still code words and are not yet officially released by the corporation.
The ‘MT’ series of Yamaha is dedicated to the naked bikes. The next generation MT-25 is said to launch in 2015, and will be a tough competition to other bikes that are being launched in the New Year. MT-25 is said to be the street version of the previous sports bike of Yamaha, namely R25. MT-25 is rumoured to being equipped with a 249cc parallel-twin engine. Another rumour says that MT-25 will is based on the luxury sports bike, R3, and will have a 321cc engine.
All that can be said at the moment is no matter what the engine capabilities would come with this bike, people await MT-25 and are eagerly waiting for an official announcement. Yamaha is also rumoured to be working on the gear ratio and the engine style so that it can adapt to the possibility and form of being a naked bike! The chassis was said to be the same as that of R25 or R3, but yet again, another rumour said that there was a need for changing the style of frame to match up the street view! No matter what the rumours say, MT-25 is going to be launched in the next year and a moment to look forward to.
