Today on 27th October, Mercedes Benz India has finally pulled the wraps off its most powerful compact SUV, the GLA45 AMG. The German premium car maker launched the Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG at Rs. 69.60 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom Mumbai).
Touted as the most powerful 2L engine to be ever used in a production car, the GLA45 AMG produces 360PS of brute power at 6000 rpm. It produces a mighty torque of 450Nm. These numbers are greater than even the E-Class sedan. To make things feel faster and quicker, the AMG guys have installed a 7 speed dual clutch transmission.
It reaches a maximum speed of 250kmph and has a 0 – 100kmph acceleration timing of 4.8 seconds. In terms of drivability, there are three different drive modes which control the throttle response of the GLA45 AMG. The comfort mode is more for optimum styled driving delivering best fuel efficiency while the Sport, as the name suggests, is for enthusiastic type. Manual mode comes into play when the driver wishes to play with the 7-Speed DCT box.
In terms of exterior design of Mercedes Benz GLA45 AMG, it is heavily based on the production version with additional performance changes. The GLA45 AMG would be primarily offered in two colors white and red. To distinguish it from the standard version, there are inserts and accents of red around the radiator grille with AMG lettering on it. The larger air inlets with an air splitter on the front bumper won’t let you mistake it for any other.
The interior of Mercedes Benz GLA45 AMG is similar to the regular version except for the performance AMG badging which remains unique. Space is still an issue inside the GLA45 AMG as it can comfortably seat four average sized adults. Front row is more comfortable than the rear row of seats.
