A large population of India depends upon various means of public transport. Though India is safe enough, but various cases have been witnessed which render the casual public transport systems unsafe for sole women travellers. Keeping all this in mind, and even considering women empowerment, Tata Motors has launched Veerangana Express, which is a cab service by the women for the women.

This initiative by Tata Motors in Gwalior is expected to be a leap in feminism and is considered to have the tendency to bridge the gap. The drivers of these auto-rickshaws have been trained by SGS Motors, which is one of the authorised dealers of Tata Motors. So far, eight such vehicles have been released as a pilot. Many other such expresses might be released, considering the needs of the population.

These pink and white coloured Tata Magic Iris will be managed and commuted by a group of ladies and is bound to stay in the Municipal Range of Gwalior. Each of these vehicles is equipped with a GPS system for easy tracking and navigation.

Alka Srivastava, the founder of this bank, emphasised on Women Empowerment and informed that this step is a big leap towards the creation of independent women in the society. She was thankful to Tata Motors for bringing up such an initiative that gives freedom of choice to the women passengers.

K Sanjeeva Rao, Regional Sales Manager of the SCV-Passenger Unit seemed delighted on the launch of this project. He informed that the service was aimed at providing satisfaction to the customers along with support to the female commuters of Gwalior. The easy dynamics and proper training seem to have simplified the task of travelling in Gwalior.

The step has been highly planned and made strong against criticism by a few people who might have thought differently on this initiative. Other than this, the achievement of success of this project is not far fledged. It is just a matter of days after which a large population would use the Veerangana Express.
