Volvo Auto India has officially confirmed that it will launch the petrol version of the S60 T6 on July 3, 2015. The diesel variants of the sedan - D4 and D5 - are already on sale in India. Similar to its diesel counterpart, the Volvo S60 T6 petrol will be brought via CBU (completely built-up) route.
Powering the S60 T6 petrol will be a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that is boasted with direct injection fuel supply technology. This powertrain will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will help the car to develop a maximum power of 306bhp with 400Nm of torque. The pre-facelift model, on the other hand, was offered with a 3.0-litre straight-six engine that churns out 304bhp with 440Nm of torque.
Unlike the previous AWD model, the new S60 T6 will get the front-wheel drivetrain system. Volvo claims that the new S60 T6 will be faster than the old one. It will be capable to attain 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 230kmph. The S60 T6 petrol will continue to feature the ‘designed around you’ philosophy.
Features on offer could be active bending headlights with LED daytime running lights, a sunroof, digital TFT instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment system, electronic climate control system, leather seats and park assist.
The new Volvo S60 T6 will compete against the BMW 3 Series 328i, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The sedan is likely to be priced around Rs. 35 lakh.
