Volvo India will be launching new S60 R-Design variant in domestic market soon. The company has been grappling to lure customers to showrooms and hence has been witnessing low sales for quite some time. Weak sales network is also to be blamed for bleak performance of the Swedish auto maker in India. In wake of increasing monthly sales, Volvo is now coming up with the S60 R-Design variant. Sources have revealed that the new variant will be priced at Rs 39.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The variant will come housed with a 2.0 litre, four cylinder diesel engine engendering top power output of 181 Bhp along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. This 2.0 litre, four cylinder diesel engine will replace the conventional D4, five cylinder engine capable of developing 163 Bhp. It has been learnt that the engine is capable of delivering an excellent fuel economy of 25 kmpl. An eight-speed automatic gearbox will be paired to the diesel engine. The ‘i-Art’ technology and new automatic transmission present in the vehicle supervises the procedure at every fuel injector and allocates the pressure for each combustion cycle. This in turn contributes towards the increased fuel economy.
Minor tweaks have also been given on the exterior and interior front. On the outside, a new bumper, new honeycomb lower grille and R-design badges have been equipped. New five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels have been fitted to the flared wheel arches. Presence of twin circular chrome exhaust tips and diffuser up the style quotient of the sedan. Step inside the cabin and you will witness features like sportier front seats, 10GB internal storage for music system and satellite navigation system classing up the cabin.
