The much awaited Volvo XC90 makes its debut in the Chinese market at a starting price tag of 798000 Yuan (Rs 81.52 lakh). The carmaker for now has only offered the XC90 T6 trim that is available in five and seven seater options. Sometime later, Volvo plans on launching the 2.0 Turbo T5 and hybrid T8 variant.
The new Volvo XC90 gets a turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder petrol engine that has been mated to eight-speed automatic transmission and is capable of generating about 320 Hp with 400 Nm of torque. Speaking on the design aspect, the SUV measures 4,950mm in length, 1,923mm in width and about 1,776mm in height. As for the interiors, the vehicle gets a large touchscreen system apart from interesting combination of wood inserts and white leather. As for the possibility of the vehicle making its way to India, the company has revealed not plans for now yet.
