German car-maker Volkswagen has been in the news in recent time hinting on a possible launch of Jetta sedan sometime early next year. The first glimpse of the sedan was seen at the recently ended New York International Motor Show. The German car-maker has been quite popular in the local market and has been known for quality, refinement and performance across different car segments being sold in the country.
The face-lifted version of upcoming Volkswagen Jetta is expected to be powered by a 2.0 liter TDI diesel engine that is capable of generating an additional power of about 10 Bhp. On the exterior front, the grille appears to meet seamlessly with the head lamps, rendering a more mature look to the sedan. A bumper has been restyled, head lamps feature chrome inserts, Moreover, LED accents may also find its place on the new Jetta. Rear will don a new look, courtesy leaner stance and redesigned bumper. Head lamps will be placed a tad higher. Inside the cabin a number of changes will be visible, including a larger screen, new steering and cylindrical housings for two preeminent dials. Besides these, several other minor upgrades are also expected to be given.
Sources have also hinted on a possible launch a new compact Taigun SUV for the local market. If launched, the Taigun shall be the first sub-four meter SUV from Volkswagen in India. The SUV shall be available in petrol as well as diesel variants. The diesel version is likely to be powered by 1.2 Liter TDI engine that generates about 74 Bhp of power. The petrol variants may be powered by 1.0 Liter TSI engine that generates about 110 Bhp of power with 175 Nm of torque. Detailed specification on the Jetta sedan shall only be known post an official announcement made by the company in this regard.
