      The daily drive to office can be pretty boring at-times. However, imagine if you had a Porsche or a BMW to drive in. Who wouldn't want to drive a car that is powerful and comfortable at the same time? Year 2013 witnessed some big launches with the likes of Porsche Cayman S, Audi RS5, Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, Porsche 911, BMW Z4, Mercedes Benz E63 AMG and Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG. The New Year also looks promising for true car fanatics.

      2014 is set to witness the likes of Porsche 911 Turbo/Turbo S, Lamborghini Huracan and BMW i8. The former is due to be released sometime during the first quarter, and the latter is expected to be launched sometime in the third quarter. Porsche, has been known for their twin-clutch automatic gear box and now it comes as a standard feature in the new 911's. Latest technology has been implemented in the new 911 Turbo and the car generates up to 520 PS, that clocks a 100 km/hr under just 3.1 seconds. The Turbo S generates an incredible 560 PS that clocks a 100 km/hr at an astonishing 2.9 seconds! The pricing is expected to be a little over 2 crore, but in exchange to hefty money spent, you get a superb performer that delivers even outside race track conditions.

      Rising fuel cost and global warming has been a matter of concern to the environmentalists. BMW has decided to do its part in the helping, by launching its first hybrid named 'i8' at a global platform. As per sources, it is said that seven cars are being handed over to Indian buyers who had shown keen interest in buying of new models. The BMW i8 features 130PS electric motor that powers the front wheels. Switch to the petrol mode and the 1.5 litre three-stage turbo engine springs to life and powers the rear wheels. Carbon-fibre build structure, keeps the overall body weight on a lower side. Moreover, a perfect weight distribution ratio makes it a perfect handler with a sports car feel.

      Lamborghini has planned an official unveiling of its new sports car Huracan LP 610-4 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The car is an all-wheel drive and shall compete on grounds with Audi's supercars. The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a V10 engine that has been a success in the Gallardo line. The V10 generates an amazing 610 bhp and comes with 7-speed dual clutch transmission. The overall build of the car is lighter in weight due to a modular space-frame chassis and carbon fibre material construct. It is expected that the car shall make way to Indian shores later this year.

      All three cars Lamborghini Huracan, Porsche 911 Turbo/ Turbo S, and BMW i8 are excellent in their own regard. The BMW being a hybrid, still features a turbo-charged petrol engine that is quite capable of giving the driver a sports-car feel. The Lamborghini Huracan and Porsche 911 Turbo/ Turbo S are powerful performers that can outperform the rest on a race track as well as outside it!
