According to a recent statement from General Motors India, the company will roll out two new models in India based on Chevrolet 300 series platform. The two new models will be launched within next 18 month, one of which will be the mini car Chevrolet Beat and another one will be an entry level sedan model. General Motors India already launched Chevrolet Cruze this week based on the 300 Platform and is clearly set to keep the momentum on.

“Cruze is the first product from our third generation 300-series platform. Although our existing models will continue from the current platforms, all our future products in India will come out from this new platform. We will launch a small car on the Beat concept in January 2010 and another car model on the lines of entry-level Aveo sedan in 18 months.” GM India president and managing director Karl Slym said.

Other products coming from GM India will be based on Cruze platform which is the latest platform from the company. Moreover, all the designs of Chevrolet model will carry latest features to give them trendier and more modern look.

General Motors India is quite hopeful of the Indian market and intends to aggressively build its brand in India. It expects to sell at least 500-600 units of Cruze each month but the initial target succeeding the launch is set for at least 800 per month.
