Global favorite Toyota has been planning on launching the hybrid crossover named RAV4 at the New York Auto Show. The vehicle loaded with bolder style shall be showcased along with a gasoline powered trim of a smaller version that is expected to be launched next year.
The concept for all electric version was dropped last year when Tesla had announced that it would not be supplying the batteries for the vehicle. The fresh effort is part of Toyota's initiative to offer hybrid technology across its line. Being a bigger vehicle, it has ample space to hold bigger battery units. As per research firm Baum & Associates, Hybrid car sales have witnessed a drop by 8.8 percent in 2014, to 452,152 vehicles. With fresh developments in this segment, the company expects to witness good growth.
