Our first drive experience of the legendary Toyota Hilux pickup truck will go live at 11.00 am tomorrow on CarTrade. Launched in March 2022, the Hilux is currently priced at Rs 30.40 lakh and is available in three variants and with only one diesel engine option.
The engine on offer is Toyota’s 2.8-litre diesel producing 210bhp/420Nm and can be had with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. All versions get full-time 4X4 as standard. The top-spec model gets features like climate control, power windows, power mirrors and a touchscreen infotainment system with apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
The Toyota Hilux has a major rival in the form of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross which is priced similarly and has a similar feature list. In addition, the other pickup truck that you can buy is the Tata Xenon. We also expect a pik-up version of the latest generation Mahindra Scorpion-N to arrive within the next two years.
