      Top 3 much awaited cars launched in 2014

      The year 2014 is about to end and it was quite eventful as far as car releases are concerned. A number of cars were launched in a number of categories. Some of them came up to the expectations, some surpassed them, while a few could not reach the target. Nevertheless, for car lovers and fans, 2014 was indeed cheerful. Here is a glimpse on the top three car launches of the year.

      Tata Zest

      One of the best releases of this year is Tata Zest. This vehicle was based on the Indica Vista platform, although it uses new panels. The Zest has seen a lot of improvements, which were not present in the Vista model. This compact sedan has made the segment it really competitive, which was already populated with Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent. The petrol and diesel variants are capable of generating 90 PS of power. However, the diesel model is capable of generating a higher torque of 200 Nm while the petrol model generates only 140 Nm. Five speed gearbox has been provided for the transmission of power to the wheels.

      Renault had launched the Duster a couple of years back, which became an instant hit in the MUV segment. This year witnessed the launch of Duster RxL and RxZ. The features of this new car were more or less similar with one important addition. The new models were provided with an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) option. Who would not want to buy a car, which can churn out 110 PS power, with a torque output of 245 Nm. Adding to that is the high comfort factor, which Renault has provided to the Duster. All this combined with Duster’s characteristic to beat the challenging roads and a newly provided AWD, the SUV lovers of India could not have asked for more.

      Definitely, the next big release for Indian car lovers was Fiat Avventura, another model in the MUV segment. The car comes with a dual engine, one is capable of generating 93 PS power and 209 Nm torque while the other produces 90 PS and 115 Nm torque. With a five-speed gearbox, this car is meant for uneven terrains and unplanned trips. The mileage of this car is 14.4 kilometres for a litre, which is quite impressive in this category.
