Chevrolet Cruze being silently recalled for faulty PVC bracket

Without an official announcement, General Motors’ Chevrolet has recalled certain units of the Cruze in order to replace the PVC brackets holding the wirings. The customers are being called personally, and hence, an official announcement of the build or the year of manufacture of the defective variant has not been announced. The task of repairing is supposed to take a couple of hours and the customers are not being charged anything for it.

Cruze is only available in diesel fuelling options in India, having a powerful 4-cylinder diesel engine under the hood. This engine has the capability to churn out a power of 166 bhp and a torque of 380 Nm at the highest configuration.

Chevrolet Cruze has given a tough competition to middle range sedans of other leading companies with an average selling rate of 120 units per month. But if the problem of such recalling prevails in the market, the customers will soon start losing their interest and faith in General Motors. This may lead to a reduction of their sales and profits.

It must be noted that this is not the first recall for General Motors in 2014. In fact, this year has been a little harsh on the company due to many faulty parts in their cars. The American company’s year started with difficulties and problems in ignition switches of their cars in American region. Even in India, the scene of recalling by General Motors has been quite common with the recent errors in Tavera and Sail models. These errors and faulty operations in the production line asks for strict quality checks and improvement in the production techniques by the company if the officials want to carry forward the legacy of the company.
