Tata Motors has been riding high with the launch of new compact sedan Zest. This time around banking on its success, the carmaker has gone ahead with the introduction of a new variant of the popular sedan. Tata Zest XTA, the new variant, comes with an AMT transmission system and is available at INR 8.07 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Indian carmaker has introduced several features in the new trim that would attract new buyers. Experts are of the view that these fresh alterations to the car will help the brand rise up among competitors like Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire.
New features have been included by Tata in the new Zest XTA, like - dual airbags, alloy wheels and reverse parking sensors. Other additions include touch-sensitive infotainment system by Harman with phone control and voice command options. As for the technical aspect of this variant, the sedan is stated to be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel engine that churns out a power output of about 89 BHP. The engine is mated to an AMT gearbox and delivers a fuel economy of up to 21.58 kmpl.
Unlike its new rival, Honda Amaze is available with an automatic transmission trim only with a petrol engine. The compact sedan boasts of features like alloy wheels, integrated audio system with steering control and front dual airbags. The other two top cars in the compact sedan segment like Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, are also offered with automatic transmission options but only with petrol engines.
Experts feel that exclusivity of automatic version in a diesel engine option would indeed be helpful in improving sales for Tata Zest XTA. In addition, it is believed that this car could give competitors a run for their money. Tata Zest XTA a fully loaded compact sedan deal that offers something more than the rest.
