The Indian two-wheeler market has been a witness to a new level of competition as bikes from different segments are engulfed in head-to-head competition for the top spot. One such rivalry that has been going on is between Yamaha R15 and Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. Though Bajaj Auto is quite ahead of Yamaha in terms of sales, the R15 model from the company has performed exceptionally well and has given tough competition to Pulsar 200 NS. Let’s take a look at how these models stack up against each other in terms of features and specifications.
Yamaha R15 is a bike designed with a racing concept in mind and aims to offer customers a sporty feel. Currently, the company sells a version 2.0 of the old R15 bike. The bike features an Engine Control Unit, wide front tyres, LED taillights, well-designed middle and cow tail. The aerodynamic aspect of this bike has been paid special attention to deliver impressive performance. This bike powered by a 149.8 cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine with a fuel injection supply system is capable if delivering power output of about 16 BHP.
Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS, on the other hand, is a bike that focuses more on the performance aspect. Equipped with a 199.5 cc four-stroke engine the bike produces a maximum power output of about 22.52 BHP.
In terms of power and speed, the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is much better than Yamaha R15 but the latter’s rideability is excellent and it is certainly more stylish. However, Bajaj Auto plans on launch new bikes this year like Pulsar 200 SS, 400 SS, 160 NS and 400 CS with increased focus on the styling aspect.
