The Indian auto giant Tata Motors has resumed the production at its Sanand manufacturing plant after a fortnight long maintenance shutdown. It was a planned maintenance shutdown for the proper maintenance and rationalising of inventory.

The Sanand plant in Gujarat was inaugurated in June 2010, following the company’s shifting of Nano manufacturing here from Singur in West Bangal. The company had to shift to Sanand after a series of political party led farmer agitations on land acquisition issues.

In a statement issued by the company in this regard on Saturday, the company spokesman said, “Production at Sanand plant has resumed after a temporary suspension for about a fortnight.”

Meanwhile, Tata Motors has said that the recently commenced consumer oriented marketing programs by the company has showing good results with a considerable increase in the consumer queries and foot falls at the Tata dealerships.

Moreover, Tata Motors recently lost the largest automobile makers spot to largest utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra, after the firm’s market value slumped below the same of M&M.

The company has one of the most diversified portfolios in the Indian market with having the cheapest cars like Nano and expensive Jaguar & Land Rover in the same kitty
