      Tata Motors register a jump of 21 percent in global sales during January 2012

      The Indian auto giant Tata Motors, which is one of the most diversified vehicle makers in the country, has registered a 21 percent jump in its global sales in the month of January 2012. The firm’s luxury vehicle making subsidiary – Jaguar & Land Rover – appeared a major contributor in the company’s global sales during this month, the company said in a statement.
      Total sales of the firm stood at 119,799 vehicles during the month.

      In the passenger car segment, the company managed to sell 66,785 units sold in the same month last year, registering a sales surge of 26 percent over the same month last year. While the sales of Jaguar Cars’ vehicles stood at 4,547 units (registering a surge of 49 percent), the sales of Land Rover surged 43 per cent at 24,746 units.

      On the other hand, the sales of commercial vehicles stood at 53,014 units during the month under review, accounting for a surge of 15 percent over the same period previous year.
