Almost two year after launching its highly ambitious cheapest small car Nano in the Indian market in March 2009, the Indian auto giant Tata Motors is now looking forward to develop Tata Megapixel model with an unbelievable fuel economy of 100 km per liter. On Tuesday, the company had unveiled a new four seater model of its global range extended electric vehicle (REEV), which has been specially designed for driving in congested and heavy traffic city conditions.
Speaking to the reporters at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Motors, said, "Realistically such products take at least 3 years to develop. There are lots of electric technologies to be developed, besides many other things."
The company has unveiled its all new Megapixel at the Geneva Show, which looks nearer to the production version of this car as compared to the earlier showcased Pixel concept at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2012.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prakash M Telang, Tata Motors Managing Director, said, "The Tata Megapixel, developed by our design centers in India, the UK and Italy, is our idea of a city car for discerning motorists in any megacity of the world. It is a result of the progress we have made on the Tata Pixel, displayed last year, and also denotes the company's future design direction."
