India's popular car-maker Tata Motors has just started accepting bookings for its much awaited sedan Zest. The refreshingly new sedan Zest is up for grabs at a booking amount of about Rs. 21,000. Fresh reports have also been pouring in that Tata may launch a fresh new hatchback named Kite sometime next year that shall be positioned in straight line of competition with Maruti Suzuki's popular Celerio.

Tata Kite's engine specification is unconfirmed for now, it is expected to be powered by new sub-1.0 Liter engine that shall be positioned between Indica and Nano hatchbacks, or its may either receive 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Quadrajet turbocharged diesel engine. A person close to the development process said, “The company is looking at the vast potential as its current models like Indica cannot serve the small car market and Nano has not achieved the desired results. Kite would be placed in between the Nano and the Indica.” It is anticipated that the new vehicle shall be manufactured at Sanand facility located in Gujarat.

The Kite hatchback from Tata Motors is expected to be highly fuel efficient and big on cabin space much like its family lineage. Tata Motors had displayed the Zest compact sedan at the 2014 Auto Expo held in the month of February earlier this year where it got appreciation from the onlookers. Based on Tata Motors’ new ‘DESIGNEXT’ design philosophy the vehicle has several reasons to look forward to. After half a decade, Tata Motors is coming up with a new model in domestic market, besides this the company has developed a new Revotron petrol engine that will be powering the compact sedan. Other than these, Zest will be the first diesel vehicle and sedan to be offered with automated manual transmission, hence giving it an edge over its rivals such as Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Xcent.
