Tata Motors has been taking the car making business seriously. The Indian carmaker has been in the news this year owing to its innovative Revotron technology in the newly launched Zest sedan and upcoming Bolt hatchback. Apart from these two cars, there also has been news about a fresh new hatchback named 'Kite' that is due for launch sometime next year. The yet to be launched Kite hatchback is expected to be a strong competitor for Maruti Suzuki's popular Celerio hatchback. Tata's Zest made a grand entry recently and has been launched at an interesting price tag of about Rs. 4.64 lakhs for petrol, whereas the diesel variant is launched at Rs. 5.64 lakhs. Both the prices are ex-showroom Delhi based.

Speaking more on the plans for Tata Kite a person close from the development process said, “The company is looking at the vast potential as its current models like Indica cannot serve the small car market and Nano has not achieved the desired results. Kite would be placed in between the Nano and the Indica.” Until now, Tata has not revealed any concrete details on the upcoming Kite's engine specifications or pricing aspect. But based on our anticipations, we expect that Tata Motors may put life into Kite hatchback with a new sub -1.0 Liter engine that expected to be positioned between Indica and Nano hatchbacks, or its may either receive 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine and the 1.3-litre Quadrajet turbocharged diesel engine. The recently launched Zest sedan is stated be a reality post 300000 hours of research and development. The Revotron 1.2 T engine technology is stated to be the first of its kind in the segment of gasoline engines.

Space has never been an issue with cars coming from the Tata's production line. Going by the family lineage and spy shots that emerged a while ago, the Kite hatchback shall also carry ample cabin space that is common with its other cousins. It is also anticipated that the upcoming car may be highly fuel efficient. The Sanand manufacturing facility located in Gujarat might as well serve in production of the upcoming Kite hatchback.
