Like the Zest compact sedan, the Tata Bolt hatch will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version gets the new REVOTRON, 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that churns out a maximum power output of 88bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm. Just like the Zest, the petrol model of the Bolt also offers the driver selectable multi-mode option- Sport, City and Eco. The oil burner is the same tried & tested Fiat’s sourced 1.3-litre multi-jet motor that is capable of producing 74bhp of power and 190Nm of top torque. Both engines are coupled to a five-speed manual transmission which sends power to front wheels of the car. It is also expected that the company will also launch the automated manual transmission (AMT) equipped variant of the hatchback, but at a later stage.

The Tata Bolt hatchback is equipped with segment leading features such as smartphone connected navigation system with touchscreen interface, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable and retractable wing mirrors, automatic climate control etc. On safety front, the hatchback gets dual airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD, etc. It will compete against the likes of Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and others.
