Mercedes-Benz will launch the much-awaited CLA sedan in the Indian car market tomorrow. The company has already introduced the performance oriented CLA 45 AMG, while the standard petrol and diesel variants of the sedan will go on sale tomorrow. Bookings for the sedan have already commenced in the country.

The CLA Class is based on the MFA Platform that also underpins the A-Class, B-Class and GLA. Sharing its styling with the A-Class, the CLA sedan has an aggressive front fascia with long bonnet. The hood features aggressive lines that merge into the stylish single slat chrome grille that accommodates three-pointed star at the centre. It also gets Bi-xenon headlamps with daytime running lamps, but as an optional. At the rear, the sedan shares styling with larger CLS. Its sloping roofline gives it a coupe-like sporty profile.

The CLA-Class will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version is propelled by a 2.0-litre turbocharged, 4-cylinder unit that churns out a maximum power output of 181bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm. Its oil burner is the new 2.1-litre motor that makes 135bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. Both motors are coupled to a seven-speed automatic gearbox driving the power to front wheels.

The Mercedes CLA sedan will compete against the Audi A3 sedan. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 35 lakh.
