      Tata Bolt hatchback launched; priced at Rs. 4.45 lakh

      Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker, has finally launched the highly anticipated Bolt hatchback in the country. Available in four trim levels- XE, XM, XMS and XT, the Bolt hatchback is priced at Rs. 4.45 lakh for base variant and Rs. 7 lakh for top-spec model.

      The Tata Bolt hatch is available in two engine options- a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol motor and a 1.3-litre ‘Quadrahet’ turbo diesel unit. The petrol engine is capable of producing a top power output of 89bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm. The Bolt hatchback is available in three drivable modes- Sport, City and Eco, which is first in its league. The oil burner is capable of producing a top power output of 74bhp and a peak torque of 190Nm. Both engines are coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox which sends the power to front wheels of the car.

      Dimensionally, the Tata Bolt hatchback is 3,825mm long, 1,695mm wide and 1,550mm high, and it comes with a large wheelbase of 2470mm. It comes with a decent ground clearance of 165mm, which is good enough to drive through rugged Indian roads. The Tata Bolt hatchback is available in five exterior shades- Venetian Red, Pristine white, Platinum Silver, Dune Beige and Sky Grey.

      Talking about features, the top-spec model is equipped with Harman-sourced central touchscreen based infotainment system with voice recognition and MapMyIndia GPS navigation, SMS readout capability, smartphone based navigation with an offline maps support, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, etc. Dual airbags is offered on the top-spec XMS/XT variants, while the mid-level variant gets ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution).
