Koleos from Renault is definitely a visual treat, the SUV has been crafted for stunning style with a dash of superior comfort. XUV 500 from Mahindra and Mahindra has also caught the fancy of many SUV lovers in the country. The SUV from Mahindra sets the streets on fire with its cheetah inspired style.
The XUV500 is powered by 2179CC, mHawk140, Direct injection diesel engine 5th generation Variable Geometry Turbo charger (VGT) engine that generates an impressive 140 Bhp of power with 330 Nm of torque. The powerful engine is mated to a six speed synchro-mesh manual gear box. The Indian car-maker boasts of Intelligent All Wheel Drive technology that has been developed by Borg Warner that ensures you are always in control of the vehicle irrespective of heavy rainfall, slippery surfaces or snowfall situations. The SUV is based on Monocoque construction that delivers a good power to weight ratio, dream-like handling and undiluted driving pleasure. Mahindra has also recently showcased a hybrid version of its popular car. Pravin Shah, the chief executive (automotive division) said, “We are trying to build brand Mahindra globally. There will be a variety of vehicles under the electric platform. Various things we do surrounding one big activity that is in true sense a representative of our true DNA.” The car on display at the event featured a transparent hood, whereas overall major design changes have not been implemented. The new hybrid SUV seems to be the only reliever from the ever increasing fuel prices in the country
The Renault Koleos two wheel drive is powered by 2.0 Litre engine that generates about 150Ps of power at 4000 RPM. The four wheel drive version is also powered by 2.0 Liter engine that generates about 173 Ps of power. The car has been designed for extra-urban adventure with optimized handling and maneuverability. For safety the car is loaded with the ESP system controls that corrects the trajectory. Moreover, the braking assistance feature reduces the distance on stopping. The SUV comes pre-fitted with a combination of cruise control and a speed limiter. The car is high on performance, but does not compromise on fuel efficiency figures and delivers an impressive mileage of around 17.15 kmpl.
