      In a car market like India, the sales of petrol cars used to be higher as compared to diesel ones but due to a number of factors the trend has now changed. The negative consumer sentiment that is prevalent among the Indian car buyers regrading the use of petrol cars has brought down their sales. With the festive season fast approaching, it shall bring about a respite for auto makers as sales of vehicles generally increase during this point of time. According to sources, major car companies are in line to launch several new petrol models. So much to the delight of car lovers in India, some of the hottest petrol cars might be on their way to make their debut in the Indian auto market.

      If rumours are to be believed, Mercedes-Benz might be planning to add a new model in its product line-up for India. It is being said that the German luxury car manufacturer will be launching its CLA model, which made its global debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show. The car will be available in diesel and petrol variants and is elated to feature in different trim levels namely CLA 180, CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, CLA 200, CLA 250 and CLA 220 CDI. As Claimed by the company, CLA is the most aerodynamic vehicle ever to feature in production, having a low Cd figure of 0.23.

      The CLA class boasts of sportier looks that are combined with its power packed engine. At the front, the car has a large front radiator grille where the logo of Mercedes-Benz sits. CLA will feature daytime running LED headlamps, this feature of the car makes it one of the hottest car from the arsenal of Mercedes-Benz. CLA has been given a more extrovert look, all thanks to the sharp running creases and low pillars. The rear styling of CLA has been derived from CLS having structured edges. The car might feature in India by the end of current year and is expected to be manufactured at the Chakan facility of the company.

      Skoda recently took the curtains of its new generation Octavia model that will soon hit the Indian car market. The next generation Octavia model is already on sale in some of the major European markets and is expected to launch in India any time during the festive season. However, the company has remained silent on announcing the detailed specifications of the car that will be meant for Indian car market. As far as petrol variant of Octavia is concerned, it shall be offered in different engine configurations of 1.4-litre TSI and 1.8-litre TSI, besides the 2.2-litre turbocharged one. However, uncertainty still looms over the availability of lighter petrol engine. In terms of dimensions, the car is now longer and wider as compared to its older model.

      Nissan has officially unveiled is compact SUV named Terrano and has made each and every information public regarding the engine specifications and features of the car well before its launch. The company has even told that Terrano would be price under Rs. 10 lakh. As far as style and design of upcoming car from Nissan is concerned, it features a distinct identity as compared to sibling Renault Duster. The car definitely features on the list of hottest upcoming petrol cars in India, owing to its masculine appearance. Nissan Terrano would be offered in both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol variant shall have 1.6-litre MPFI engine, which will feature an ability to yield 102 bhp of power, alongside 145 Nm of torque.
