Skoda, the Czech automaker, is working on an all-new seven seater SUV, which is likely to be launched in the European market in 2016. The vehicle has been spotted for the first time with minimal camouflage. The vehicle on test seems like a stretched version of the Yeti.

The SUV will be made available in both five and seven seat options and will compete against the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Chevrolet Captiva and Kia Sorento. The car will also offer excellent off-road capabilities. Codenamed the 'A-Plus SUV', the car is likely to share most of its styling cues with the Yeti.

The new large SUV is expected to share its technical specs with VW cars. VW is currently offering the Touareg SUV, which is a big off-roader. Talking about styling, the spotted vehicle features the Skoda's family face. It gets Skoda's corporate or butterfly grille and angular shaped headlamps. The side profile, too, resembles other Skoda cars thanks to the identical flared wheel arches and roofline. At the rear, the SUV has angular lines on the door and tail lamps.

It is expected that the Skoda seven-seater SUV will share its platform, chassis and range of four-cylinder turbo engines with the new-generation Superb saloon.
