Yesterday, Volkswagen introduced the special edition Vento Magnific in the Indian car market. Now, its sibling brand - Skoda Auto India has launched the Zeal limited editions across its model range which includes the Octavia, Rapid, Superb and Yeti. The Superb, Octavia and Yeti Zeal Editions feature a series of changes, whereas the Rapid Zeal Edition gets an accessory package.
The Zeal Rapid is offered on the Ambition, Elegance and Elegance Plus variants. The variants are equipped with features like rear parking sensors, navigation device with rear view camera, observation mirror and floor textile mats. It also gets leatherette and Alcantara seats.
The Superb, Octavia and Yeti Zeal models will have all black interiors with black Alcantara leather seats, black dashboard and black door trims. Mechanically, the Zeal edition range will remain unchanged. These cars will be offered for a limited period at all authorized dealerships spread across the country.
As a reminder, In September 2014, Skoda introduced the new Rapid saloon which is powered by a new 1.5-litre TDI motor that also powers the new Vento and Polo. This engine is basically a stripped down version of the 1.6L TDI unit and is capable of producing a top power output of 105PS and 150Nm of torque. The petrol version, however, carries the same old 1.6-litre MPFI engine that is good for 105bhp and 153Nm of torque.
