Skoda Auto India conducts exclusive launch of new Superb Ambition for Chandigarh

On 8th May 2012, the new Ambition variant of the segment leading Superb premium sedan was launched by Skoda Auto India in Chandigarh. With the new Superb Ambition, the Superb series has become more affordable and now is available in the market at a starting price of Rs. 18.09 lacs (Ex-showroom Chandigarh). In spite of lowering the costs, Skoda Auto India has not compromised on the model's safety, comfort and efficiency levels. Pantaloons Femina Miss India World, 2012, Vanya Mishra, who hails from Chandigarh itself, pulled the covers off the Ambition variant. She was accompanied by Head - Marketing, Skoda Auto India, Kamal Basu as well as Dealer Principal, Krishna Auto Sales, Vijay Passi.

Skoda's widely acclaimed 1.8 TSI powertrain with 6 speed manual transmission and 2.0 TDI CR powertrain with 6 speed Automatic DSG transmission will be at the core of the new Ambition model. Improved driving experience and a greater mileage will be the key derivatives from both the powertrains.

The new model will be borrowing its exterior appearance from the Elegance model except for the alloy wheel design. Inside the cabin, the car will feature wooden décor, along with Ivory NAPA leather, lounge step, dual zone climatronic for automatic climate control and electronically foldable mirrors. Apart from these, the car will also have retractable screens for passenger side windows and windscreen as well as 12-way adjustable front seats. Auto dimming interior as well as exterior mirrors, corner function and 8 airbags will be included in the security package of the premium vehicle. The car will also have Antilock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA), Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) braking systems.

The Skoda Superb has set the bar higher in its segment, having been recognised by six awards. Presently, the model sits atop the premium sedan segment of India in terms of sales. The model's leading position will only be reinforced further by the addition of the Ambition variant.
