Ever since its launch, the Indian buyers have embraced the Duster, which so far has crossed a sales figure of 19,000 units. Nassif added, “India is an important market for Renault globally, with the country set to become one of the top ten markets for the company worldwide by 2013 and to sustain this ambition an unprecedented five models have been launched in the Indian market along with setting up of 75 dealerships in less than 18 months.”

In the UK, the brand would be sold under the brand Dacia, which is a Romanian company that Renault acquired in 1999. While in the country it is available only in two-wheel drive option, those being exported to the UK and Ireland are four wheel drive option as well.

While the company has already started shipping the Duster to the UK and Ireland, it also eyes to export the compact SUV to other right-hand drive markets like Malaysia, Indonesia and South Africa.
