It is official now that Renault will launch AWD variant of Duster SUV in India a day before Navratri begins that is on September 24, 2014. Lately, Renault released a teaser video featuring Duster AWD. The AWD variant has received minor outer and interior styling tweaks. Comprehensive mechanical changes have been made in the AWD variant including the 4-wheel drive system driven by HALDEX clutch and an independent rear suspension. Boasting a large ground clearance of 205mm and turning radius of 5.2 meter, the vehicle is claimed to be offer enhanced off-road and on-road ride quality. Equipment list comprise of high end features like cruise control, anti-slip regulation, hill start assist and electronic stability program. Inside the cabin, the SUV gets new upholstery featuring red stitching.
Power is generated through a 1.5 litre K9K turbo diesel engine that is capable of developing towering power output of 108 Bhp along with top torque of 248 Nm. Duster AWD is vouched to deliver an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 19.72 kmpl. A six-speed manual gearbox is expected to be employed inside the vehicle channelizing power to all four wheels.
Expected to be priced at Rs 13 lakh the SUV will lock horns with rivals like Mahindra Scorpio 4X4 and Tata Safari 4X4.
