Unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show, the 2016 Honda Civic will be launched in America by the end of 2015. Though, the company hasn’t yet confirmed re-launch of the saloon for the Indian market. It was phased out in 2012 due to poor demand for the luxury sedan segment.

Seen here’re the spyshots of the interior of the production-ready 2016 Civic that suggest the car will get a conventional layout with dashboard integrated MID and a digital speedometer. Similar to the Honda Fit (Honda Jazz), it features center console with infotainment system and control buttons. While a single-zone climate control is positioned below the music system, the large cubbyhole is fitted under it.

Powering the 2016 Civic will be a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that also does duty to the existing model. This engine will be mated to an automatic transmission with an E-CON fuel efficient driving mode activation button, as seen on the spied model. It’s likely to be a CVT (continuously variable transmission) gearbox. For the American market, the sedan will be available in 1.8-litre i-VTEC and a VTEC Turbo engine, while the European-bound model will be powered with a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine.

Inside, the car will get an Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, i-MID (intelligent multi-information display) system with a larger display and improved interface. Based on the shortened version of the existing Accord’s platform, the new Civic will share a resemblance with its concept. It will feature revised lower fascia design, new “Flying H” grille with optional LED headlamps and rear end with tail lights. The new model will be longer than the existing version.
