Porsche Macan SUV - Everything you want to know

Porsche has eventually pulled the wraps off it’s much talked about mini SUV, Macan. The SUV has been launched in domestic market at a starting price of Rs 1 crore and the high end petrol version is available for Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). Porsche has rolled out Macan in two trim levels- base trim Macan S Diesel and high end version Macan Turbo. From the perspective of stance, the uber chic SUV has been positioned beneath Cayenne. The vehicle underpins VW’s renowned MLB platform. Traces of similarity cold be seen between Porsche’s mini SUV and Cayenne SU in terms of styling, though rears seems contrasting as it gets tailgate spoiler and sleek tail lamps. In the front a set of LED head lamps has been equipped, while the body work has been deigned to render a flexuous appeal.

Several features are being offered as standard equipments such as ride height adjustable air suspension system, all-wheel drive, bi-xenon headlamps, 3-zone automatic climate control and interior lighting package. Resemblance is visible with Cayenne inside the cabin in the form of three spoke steering wheel, dashboard and centre console.

Powering Macan S diesel is an athletic 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine that develops a towering power of 258 Bhp and a top torque of 580 Nm. The S diesel variant of Macan accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in meagre 6.3 seconds and attains the top speed mark of 230 kmph. Top-of-the-line, Macan Turbo variant is armed with a robust 3.6 litre bi-turbo petrol engine that engenders a pinnacle power of 400 Bhp along with a peak torque of 550 Nm. The petrol variant of Macan takes 4.8 seconds to rush from 0 to 100 Kmph and attains a top speed mark of 266 kmph. Porsche has put on offer PDK and all-wheel drive system as a standard provision on both the models.
