The festive season is about to begin in India and the time has begun for automakers to increase their sales via offering schemes to lure customers, launching new models and giving away discounts. Attractive schemes, cash back offers, discounts and limited edition variants of cars are what most companies offer, knowing the mentality of Indian customers, who always want to buy a car during auspicious times. The festive season begins with the Ganesh Chaturthi, a Hindu festival, and many companies, including Maruti Suzuki, Toyota and Hyundai, are offering discounts and perks on their cars.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest passenger car manufacturer is offering an interesting package on its Ritz hatchback. According to this scheme, the limited edition variation, called the Maruti Suzuki Ritz Elate, will be packed with 12 new features to enhance the overall driveability and comfort level of the car. Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki’s biggest rival in the passenger car segment, is really hoping for a rollicking festive season, especially with a number of its cars performing exceptionally well in the market. There are plenty of schemes on offer for customers who want to purchase Hyundai cars.

The South Korean car manufacturer is offering discounts on models starting from Hyundai i10 to Sonata, which, according to experts, is an excellent choice made by them. Cars like Hyundai Sonata, Elantra, Verna Fluidic and Grand i10 can be bought at savings of up to INR 90000, INR 55000, INR 1 lakh and INR 10000, respectively. Other cars on which customers can avail discounts are Santro Xing and i20.

Honda, though, is doing really well in the market at present with models like Mobilio, Amaze and City Diesel ringing cash registers, it has not offered too many schemes in the festive season except for one, which assures customers a gift on the test drive of the Brio model. Experts feel this is only to help Brio improve sales as it has not been doing that well in the Indian market. Volkswagen, the German car manufacturer, is offering a lucrative package on the Vento compact sedan in India. Customers can purchase the Volkswagen Vento and can go home with free insurance for three years, extended warranty, low EMI and 3 years maintenance, which make for an amazing offer.

Big brands are also offering some excellent packages for customers. BMW 5 series can be financed by customers at an EMI as low as INR 49999 along with free service and maintenance and extended warranty.
