Honda, the Japanese automobile giant, has made a recall of units of the Gold Wing model, a touring motorcycle, which, according to reports, has a faulty rear brake. The two-wheeler unit of one of the world’s most popular automaker has put in a file for getting a recall notice with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It is being said that Honda has communicated a problem with secondary master cylinder, which might lead to a faulty rear brake in the Gold Wing. A possible direct repercussion of this fault, the drag, can lead to an accident and the subsequently generated heat could cause a fire.

The two-wheeler manufacturer has experienced its share of recalling motorcycle units in the recent past, meaning this is not something hugely alarming. Honda’s bike division has recalled GL1800 bikes that were manufactured during the period 2001-2010 and 2012. In addition, GL1800A models, manufactured during 2001-2005 are being recalled and it is being said that Honda is going to communicate with owners of Gold Wing in two phases. Honda’s first notification will inform owners of Gold Wing about the probability of a faulty second master cylinder. Sources claim that Honda has identified these issues through specific inspections and is vying to find a solution. Following the finding of a solution, the firm is going to provide the second notification to customers.

Honda Motorcycles that were recalled and treated for 11V-567 rear brake drag in December 2011 is expected to be inspected again, reports have claimed. According to information available, the Japanese automaker has not found a solution but the recall is going to take place from September 2014.
