Suzuki, the renowned two-wheeler company has launched a new bike, Gixxer, to tap the possibilities in the 150 cc segment in India. Simultaneously, the bike was launched in Nepal, as well at a price of 229000 INR, with the help of VG Automobiles, the authorised distributor of bikes of Suzuki Motorcycles in the country of Nepal.
This bike has been modelled by the makers of the legendary Suzuki GSXR and is beautifully style, mainly keeping the youth of today’s generation. The first thing that is noticeable about the Gixxer is its neatly carved fuel tank and the upswept tail portion together with the integrated grab rails. The bike has been provided with a dual exhaust, the first of its kind in the 150 cc segment. This naked motorcycle keeps the readiness of the road keeping the machismo of the GSXR intact.
However, the engine of Gixxer is not the same as the one used in GS150R. It has been provided with a new four-stoke, single cylinder air cooled 155 cc mill, which is capable of generating a power of 10.4 kW, comes out to around 13.94 bhp. The torque generated from the machine is approximately 14 Nm and the machine is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox. However, GS150R has a six speed transmission, which is quite different from the new Gixxer. Suzuki Eco performance (SEP) has been installed in this engine that makes the bike more efficient on fuel consumption and increases the performance as a whole.
Nikunj Aggarwal, the MD of VG Automobiles, said in a statement, "Suzuki's new product will give a refreshing experience to the consumers. According to the company, Gixxer is a sporty motorcycle with a functional beauty combining edgy styling and performance."
The Gixxer is tagged at 72199 (ex-showroom Delhi) and the huge price difference in Nepal is due to the 240 per cent tax that is to be applied due to the excise, customs, value additions and road tax.
