The well-known multifaceted personality Gul Panag, with her friend Swaty, covered a distance of 2257 km from Manali to Leh in her custom-built Mahindra Scorpio Getaway in 13 days. Interestingly, the fun experiences and adventures of this trip are recorded in a 3-part series, named ‘Off Road with Gul Panag: Ladakh’, which will be aired on March 27 at 8 pm on Discovery Channel
Speaking on her journey, Gul Panag mentioned, “Wanting some time away from the hustle and bustle of daily city life, my friend Swaty and I took this road trip to Ladakh - a place that has everything an adventure-seeker looks for - clean air, scenic beauty and lots of adventure. The journey was fraught with plummeting temperatures, treacherous terrains and utter isolation. But the fully-equipped, custom-fitted Mahindra Scorpio Getaway proved to be a tough and rugged, dependable companion and took all these challenges in its stride.”
A simultaneous transmission of ‘Off Road with Gul Panag: Ladakh’ will be aired on Discovery Tamil, starting March 27th, on every Friday at 8 pm and will have a repeated airings on every Saturday at 8 pm. By April end and May, this series will be aired on TLC and Discovery Turbo, respectively.

Interestingly, the Panag’s Mahindra Scorpio Getaway is named as ‘Super Milo’ in tribute to her late pet Beagle. Owing to its powerful engine and rugged outlook, the car sports a go-anywhere capability. The Mahindra Scorpio Getaway of Gul has been customized and geared up to meet the different demands of the trip. Specialized equipment like heavy duty winch, high lift jack, additional lights, snorkel, suspension lift, metal off road bumpers, premium traction tyres and steel wheels, mechanical locking differential, 40 litre auxiliary fuel tank, roof top tent with side awning, 100 litre stainless steel water tank, cargo bay roll cage, specialized rooftop carrier, diesel tuning box, dual battery management system, a C.B. radio and a roof mounted revolving search light are fitted in her car. All these specialized enhancements make this vehicle more sturdy and self-sufficient to embark on any off-road trip and set up camp in any of the isolated locations. Along with, the car also carries an oxygen cylinder and portable gas burner.
