      Nitish Tipnis to spearhead marketing and sales at Hover Automotive India

      On 9th May 2012, the Sales and Marketing partner of Nissan India, Hover Automotive India (HAI), said that it has chosen Nitish Tipnis as Director - Marketing and Sales. All the activities involving sales, marketing, after sales, training and dealer development at HAI India will now be headed by him. In the year 2009, when Nissan was setting up base in the country, he served as the Chief Executive of HAI.

      In his 24-year-long career, Tipnis gained expertise in domains like marketing, sales, operations, corporate planning and new business development in the consumer durables industry. He was responsible for attaining sustainable volumes, process redesign, revenue growth and profit improvements for leading consumer retail organisations.

      Vice Chairman and Managing Director of HAI, G. M. Singh, commented, "We are happy to have Mr. Nitish Tipnis working on the entire Nissan portfolio. We believe that his visionary strategic planning and deep knowledge of the domain will contribute immensely towards achieving our corporate goals in marketing and sales of all products under Nissan umbrella."

      While Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nissan Motor India Private Limited, Ishida Takayuki, quoted, "Leadership of Mr Nitish Tipnis will further strengthen Nissan's position at the Indian market place and help achieve our desired goals and meet the expectations of Indian customers. I wish him all the best in his second innings with the Nissan family."

      Tipnis has extensive experience in fields like sales and marketing as well as business operations. In his career, which started with Videocon, he had a stint as the President of Future Group Electronics Store Ezone and also headed Reliance Digital.

      Following a vision of 'Enriching People's Lives' by using latest its technology and products, Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) set up operations in the domestic market in the year 2005. It remains the wholly owned subsidiary of Japanese car maker Nissan Motor Limited. In order to set up a manufacturing plant at Oragadam, located in the vicinity of Chennai, Nissan signed a MoU with Tamil Nadu government with its global partner Renault. This agreement involved an investment of Rs. 4500 crores and covered a period of 7 years.

      Since its foundation ceremony in 2008, the plant established under the Renault-Nissan partnership was inaugurated within just 21 months on 17th March 2010. In order to cater to sales and marketing, dealer development, customer relationship management and after sales in India, Hover Automobile India (HAI) was declared the exclusive strategic alliance partner of NMIPL.

      Sales, service, parts, marketing, training and dealer development functions in the Indian market for Nissan's range of products are handled adeptly by its strategic partner HAI. In order to improve upon the brand visibility of Nissan in the country, HAI is making all efforts to identify and set up a network of dealers in India.
