Honda, the Japanese car manufacturer, that recently launched the much-awaited Mobilio MPV in the Indian car market, is now planning to launch the next-generation Jazz hatchback in India. While the Mobilio is already a hit with over 10,000 bookings within 15 days of its launch, the company is expecting to repeat the success with the 2015 Jazz. The new Jazz is likely to be launched by the end of first quarter of 2015.

The new-generation Honda Jazz, for the first time, will come in diesel version. Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the Jazz hatchback will compete against the likes of new Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo. The next-gen Honda Jazz is based on a completely new platform which also underpins the new City sedan. The vehicle gets aggressive front fascia with horizontal chrome slat which is complemented by hawk-eye shaped headlamps. The side profile of the hatchback features a crisp sewage line that runs across the length of the car. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new set of alloy wheels. The rear end seems like a toned down version of its larger sibling, CR-V SUV.

The Honda Jazz interiors are based on Honda's popular "Man Maximum Machine Minimum" design philosophy. The material quality and fit & finish is expected to be top notch. The next-gen Honda Jazz is loaded with several high-end safety and other features including ABS, EBD, brake assist, push start and keyless entry.

The new Honda Jazz will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version will get the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine producing 86bhp, while the oil burner is the highly fuel efficient 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine that produces 99bhp of

power. The company might also introduce the sporty RS variant in the country which is expected to get the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine.
